What's Kait (and Daniel) Listening To?

I didn't really get into podcast listening until around 2019, but these past couple years I have been listening to stuff non-stop it feels like! Of course when this takes place, I barely get through a tv show since I can do much more while listening compared to having to watch and listen to a show or movie. (Especially when they are Kdramas, and I only like to watch them in the original language!)

  1. Bright Hearth: This is one that I listen to with Daniel. It is a husband and wife from Utah (Reformed Presbyterians) who talk about various lost arts that need to be brought back into the Christian household. In the first season they walk through different rooms of the home, the second season is about marriage, the third season is resolving conflict, etc. We are learned a lot and it has definitely played a part in our marriage and home’s growth! Lexi, the wife, is a major reader and she shares different books she has read on homemaking and the lost arts (from art itself, to architecture, to society as a whole) and I will have plenty of books to read in the coming years!

  2. Sheologians: If you enjoy listening to two women converse about all different parts of life, sometimes paired with advice on how to live more biblically as ladies, or paired with true crime mysteries, this one is for you! Summer and Joy have had several themes throughout the years on their podcast, originally going through feminism’s history (very fascinating episodes), and more recently they have been discussing how to act more feminine and Christian in our thoughts and actions.

  3. Wretched Radio: Todd Friel has a couple different episode layouts, depending on the day of the week. Wednesday is Witness Wednesday, where he walks around a local college campus and evangelizes to the students, Friday is when he answers questions that listeners send, and the rest of the days he discusses what has been happening lately in the news, typically in the church news, with a biblical worldview! I grew up listening to these at home with my mom back in the day, and now have recommended him to several friends who are fans!

  4. Apologia Radio: This is run by a pastor (Jeff Durbin) and sometimes other men in the church. Coming from a Reformed Baptist worldview, they cover hard topics, mainly news, and discuss standing firm in an ever-changing world! When popular videos surface (from political clips to cult beliefs) the guys will give a biblical response to it.

  5. Haunted Cosmos: Brian Sauve, from Bright Hearth, and his friend give a biblical response to weird happenings across the globe, and throughout history! They cover topics like bigfoot, giants, the Skinwalker Ranch, and so much more! I do not recommend listening to it in the dark though. Most of the episodes can be lengthy, since there is much to discuss and cover, so they are perfect for longer car rides!

  6. Wise Traditions: This podcast is a part of the Weston A. Price Foundation, which strives to bring back the understanding and importance of eating whole foods (and other parts of holistic health). While they do not always come from a biblical worldview, there is a lot of helpful advice contained in these 30 minute episodes, and can easily be “translated” for Christian living!

  7. Adventures in Odyssey: I know, I know, this technically is not a podcast, but it is audio and has episodes! Now I could not have a post about what podcasts I listen to a lot, and not include AIO! I grew up with it and honestly my love for it has rekindled these past several years, especially since Daniel did not listen to them growing up and he is enjoying them just as much as I do! Focus on the Family began producing this radio drama back in the 80s and recently they recorded their 1000th episode! I will admit that some of the theological beliefs do not line up with what I now believe, but I can still enjoy them! (Even though the CD albums say for ages 8-12…I think it should just read 8+, especially since I imagine lots of parents enjoy listening with their kids.)
